Private by default

This tool processes your input in the current browser tab and does not upload it for processing.

How to compare two pieces of text

Paste the older version on the left and the newer version on the right, then choose Compare text. Added lines are marked with +, removed lines are marked with -, and unchanged lines keep their original line numbers.

Use Ignore whitespace when indentation or extra spacing should not count as a change. Use Ignore case when capitalization differences should be treated as unchanged.

What this diff is best for

This tool is built for quick browser-side comparisons: copied notes, lists, short config blocks, small code snippets, product copy, and before-and-after text. It does not replace a full developer diff tool for huge files or syntax-aware code review.

The result is line based. If one word changes inside a long line, that whole line appears as changed.

Privacy and safety

Both text inputs are processed locally in the browser. MyTool0 does not upload either version, store the comparison, send QR-like content, or send the diff output to analytics.

HTML-like text is treated as plain text in the result view. It is displayed safely and is not executed.

Practical limits

The browser version applies line, character, and comparison-size limits before running the diff algorithm. If the pasted text is too large, the tool shows a recoverable error instead of freezing the page.

Questions

Frequently asked questions

Does Text Diff compare words or lines?

This first version compares line by line. It is best for snippets, lists, notes, and configuration text where changed lines matter most.

Can I ignore whitespace and case?

Yes. You can ignore whitespace and letter case during comparison while still showing the original line text in the result.

Is HTML or code executed in the diff?

No. Pasted text is rendered as plain text in the React workspace and is not executed as HTML or JavaScript.
